TVS Motor Company, the home-grown two-wheeler maker, unveiled several exciting concepts at the Auto Expo 2016. The company has displayed two all-new motorcycle concepts - TVS Akula and X21 - and the Entorq210 scooter concept. There is no clarity if any of these three concepts will go into production or not, but even if they do it will not happen before 2-3 years since these are into concept stage only. The company showcased its current lineup as well at the Motor Show. Here's a list of TVS bikes and scooters on display at the company's Auto Expo pavilion
TVS Akula 310: The TVS Akula 310 is probably one of the most exciting concepts being showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The Akula 310 is designed to celebrate TVS Racing's 33 years of race heritage. The Akula has been developed with inputs from TVS's factory race drivers, and is based on a space frame chassis as well as lightweight carbon fibre bodywork. The same platform also underpins the BMW G310R, a bike that has been jointly developed by TVS and BMW. It also uses the same 310cc, single-cylinder engine that does duty on the BMW G310R. No other details on its launch or production plans were revealed by the company.
TVS X21 concept: Another new TVS motorcycle concept unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 is the X21 that looks like a proper street fighter. The company says that the TVS X21 is a racing interpretation of the TVS Apache RTR 200. Power for the X21 comes from a 212.4cc, all-aluminium, single-cylinder, which is probably based on the TVS Apache RTR 200's engine. The company didn't reveal production plans of the X21 as well.
TVS Entorq210 : The Indian two-wheeler maker also showcased a premium scooter concept that looks quite futuristic. Called the TVS Entorq210, the new scooter gets LED lights, GPS, large wheels and several connectivity features. The Entorq210 uses the same 212.4cc engine that also powers the TVS X21 concept. Since it's in concept stage, it will be quite early to comment on its launch timeline.
New TVS Apache RTR 200 : Besides the three new concepts, the company also showcased the recently launched Apache RTR 200 at its pavilion at the Auto Expo 2016. The bike on display is the ABS-equipped fuel-injection version powered by a 197.5cc single-cylinder engine that develops 20.7bhp. This bike can achieve 100kmph mark from standstill in about 3.9 seconds with a top-speed of 129kmph.
