September is fast approaching and many tech experts are already predicting a new offering from Apple. Rumors have come out that the company will soon unveil their new offering from their iPhone lineup, but reports are still divided whether it will be called the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7.
Many speculate that a new phone from the tech giant will come out next month if one would base it on the company's release date history. The company has released the iPhone 5 in September 2012 followed by the 5s in September 2013 and the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in September 2014.
Telegraph believes Apple will not go away from their usual strategy, and the iPhone 6s or 7 will be unveiled after a keynote speech made by CEO Tim Cook.
In terms of the look, given that many rumors point to an "incremental" upgrade for the upcoming unit, Apple might release an iPhone 6s instead iPhone 7, noted Know Your Mobile.
If that is the case, then perhaps the new unit will not look "massively different" from its predecessor, and might not include additional major features. It is expected that a fine-tuning of the previous design will be made as well.
MacRumors maintained that the Cupertino-based firm will keep the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays, and totally do away with the previous 4-inch models. Some rumors also point to a new color from the company. From the space gray, silver and gold options, some whispers of a pink iPhone have been heard.
In terms of actual specifications, some reports have mentioned a faster LTE chip with the new A9 processor and 2GB of RAM. The camera is also said to be due for an upgrade to 12MP with 4K video recording.
The Force Touch, which was introduced in the latest MacBook, will also be integrated into the unit. It is expected to work perfectly with the iOS 9, which many said to have been developed to incorporate the Force Touch feature.
Longer battery life is also expected with the new unit given that this has been one of the major complaints against Apple in the past.
A leaked email from Vodafone revealed that the latest handset will go on sale beginning Sept. 25, while pre-orders will begin a week before on Sept. 18. Vodafone has yet to confirm this as the email is said to be vague in mentioning the iPhone unit in question.
Apple has yet to comment on the reports.
