OnePlus 2: Leaked images from Chinese regulator show fingerprint scanner, build

From its build, specs to online listing and pricing, a lot has already been said and writtenabout the OnePlus 2. Within a week from appearing on the popular website Oppomart, new images of the device have surfaced online.

TENAA, the Chinese wireless regulator has published images of the OnePlus 2 just ahead of the launch. It looks almost similar to the OnPlus One launched last year. It has a physical home button, hinting at the fingerprint scanner. The company had announced it earlier this year and claimed it to be faster than the iPhone.
The device is slated to launch on 27 July and CEO Pete Lau has now confirmed on Twitter that the new smartphone won’t cost more than $450, which works out to approximately Rs 28,500. Many tech enthusiasts are assuming it will be priced at $449. However, this would mean a way higher pricing tag than the One that carried a base price of $299 that translates to roughly Rs 19,000.
It was recently known that the OnePlus 2 may feature a metal build. The company has already confirmed Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, USB Type-C port, and fingerprint sensor. In a recent post, OnePlus also claims that the fingerprint sensor will be better than Apple’s implementation of TouchID.
After a successful launch of the OnePlus One flagship device and an exclusive agreement with Cyanogen, OnePlus is now trying out new and innovative ways of marketing its next flagship. The company has announced that the One Plus 2 would be launched on 27 July via the world’s first VR product launch. At Rs 99, OnePlus Cardboard VR headset is up for grabs. Here’s how you can get one.
OnePlus made an announcement stating that its OnePlus 2 smartphone will get a ‘new and improved’ invite system. The company said on the blog that, “some people thought it was too difficult and time consuming to obtain an invite or thought it was all some big marketing stunt.” For this reason, a few key improvements to the purchase experience has been made.
