Hema Malini, along with her driver in Mercedes Benz was on her way to Jaipur from Mathura, when her car met with an accident crashing a Maruti Alto that had 5 passengers in it. A four-year-old girl named Sonam died in the accident; the dream girl is also injured with stitches on her head. Reportedly, a police case has been registered against the driver of the BJP MP.
The accident took place around 8:50 p.m. The Bharatanatyam dancer-choreographer was immediately rushed to Fortis hospital, which was 60 km away from the accident spot. Revealing that the Sholay actress was conscious and alright, BJP MP Shankar Lal Sharma said, “Hema ji herself stepped in the car after the accident. She also walked inside the hospital by herself”. Reportedly, an eyewitness revealed that the actress asked the driver to drive fast as she was in immense pain. On the other hand, two out of the four who were injured are admitted to SMS Hospital.
Shankar Lal Sharma also said, “She has been hurt on the back, on her legs and on the forehead. Doctors checked her for internal injuries”. Rajpal Singh Sekhawat, who is Rajasthan’s minister revealed, “A plastic surgeon is also part of the team of doctors headed by Dr Sandipan”. PP Chaudhary, the MP of Pali, said, “She has received a minor injury and there is nothing to worry. It is a minor injury on the forehead. Doctors are going for all sorts of medical examination, including CT scan, they don't want to take any sort of risk”.
